April 24, 2026 - 5:00 - Annual Meeting - Featuring The Art of Soldiering:  Servicemembers, Satire, and Cartoons, presented by Wayne Gannaway, Executive Director, St. Louis County Historical Society ​/ What is daily life for an enlisted service member really like?  From World War I to the Global War on Terror, the realities of military life have been shared with comrades, family members, & the public through cartoons. Wayne will present classic Stars and Stripes cartoons, Vietnam War–era cartooning, & contemporary digital cartoons by today’s service members, with a special focus on Duane Bryers & Munroe Milavitz, World War II service members from the Iron Range /  Social time, dinner, & short meeting followed by presentation / Dinner & Presentation:  $30.00 / Virginia Elks Lodge, Virginia MN / Reservations & payment are required by Friday, April 17.
